Scope
Polymers and composites are of tremendous importance and they are extensively used in many fields. They can save a significant amount of weight in many items and can therefore be a 'greener' option. The weight/size ratio is very important for these materials.
For many industrial applications such as the automotive, aeronautic, & aerospace industries, also explosives, army, & civil engineering, composites and polymers are extremely important. Therefore, knowledge of the impact mechanical behaviour of solid polymers and composites is becoming more and more necessary. So it is vital to know the dynamic properties of these organic materials as well as to develop mathematical models for them.
Improvement of modelling increasingly needs understanding of the evolution of the microstructure. This is particularly important for dynamic loading due to the complexity of polymer microstructures and their high sensitivity to strain rate. The goal of this technical meeting is to improve the knowledge of these very interesting materials, both on the micro as well as on the macro modelling scale.

Conference Guided Visit and Banquet
The banquet will take place in a famous symbol of Strasbourg (which dates back to 1427): the “Maison Kammerzell”.

Before the banquet, there is an appetizer and a visit to the historical “Cave des Hospices de Strasbourg” (tasting of the finest wines included).
